You're completing or have just finished either Year 12 (your HSC, VCE or IB) at high school or your final year of secondary education at another educational organisation, such as TAFE.

Undergraduate courses include:

  • Bachelor's degrees
  • University certificates
  • Diplomas

Postgraduate courses include:

  • Graduate certificates
  • Graduate diplomas
  • Postgraduate diplomas
  • Master's degrees by coursework
  • Research degrees

This means you're not:

  • an Australian citizen
  • a permanent resident (including permanent humanitarian visa holders), or
  • a New Zealand citizen.

Decide where you learn – from anywhere in Australia (or even around the world). Everything for your course is online. Live and recorded lectures. Readings. Tutorials. Assessments. Some online courses also give you the opportunity to come on campus for an intensive (residential) school.

Online study also means you can fit your learning around part-time work, family, volunteering, internships. Whatever works for you. You'll be part of diverse community and connect with your classmates on course forums and Facebook groups.

Get the complete in-person study experience. Choose to live on campus or travel in for your classes from nearby. All our campuses include a library and 24/7 learning commons, as well as a full range of support services and a First Nations student centre. You can also get involved in the social side of university life, with clubs, sports, events and volunteering opportunities.

Our Charles Sturt Advantage early offer program is your chance to get into uni based on work you've already done and skills you already have.

We'll look at two things: your Year 11 results and your soft skills. Soft skills are personal attributes that will help you succeed at study – and life. Things like communication skills, resilience, empathy, and motivation to create a world worth living in.

Bachelor's degree

Often your first university qualification, a bachelor's degree gives you foundational skills and knowledge. You can often choose to study online or on campus, and many bachelor's degrees include workplace learning experiences where you get hands-on experience and build your professional network.

Honours

Honours allows you to complete a research project on a particular area of interest. It can be integrated with your bachelor's degree or you can complete an honours year as a standalone course.

These courses are short, entry-level qualifications. They are ideal for you to upskill in your field, undertake professional development or explore a new area of interest. They can also provide a foundation for further study. Specific courses available are -

Micro-credentials (sometimes known as micro-subjects) are short, eight-week subjects that give you cutting-edge skills for the workplace. A two-point micro-credential only takes around four hours of study a week, while a four-point micro-credential just eight.

Single subjects

Single subjects are short online courses in which you study the same material that's in our degrees. You could also receive credit for your single subject if you decide to pursue a related degree.

Study Link

Study Link subjects are short online subjects that prepare you for success in your degree. They can fill knowledge gaps, enhance your skills and build your confidence.

Cross-institutional study lets you choose subjects at Charles Sturt University that are not offered at the uni you're enrolled at.

We know that if you're given a chance to study something you're passionate about, you'll shine. That's why we include guaranteed entry to most of our bachelor's degrees when you successfully complete the free Access Charles Sturt Entry Course.

Study on campus, online or a combination of the two. Choose full-time study over one session or part-time over two. Get prepared for your degree with skills in academic writing, maths and statistics. You'll also get to choose from a range of elective subjects to complement your future degree.

Undergraduate certificates are short, four subject qualifications that set you up for your next step – in uni study or at work. In as little as 14 weeks of full-time study you’ll enhance your skill set and build the foundation for further study into to a bachelor’s degree.

Connections is a five-day program that helps you prepare for study with Charles Sturt University. Successfully complete the program and you'll get guaranteed entry in to a broad range of bachelor's degrees.

Research master's

Study a research master's to develop and enhance your analytical and research skills through independent investigation in a specific field. You'll develop a thorough understanding of scholarly debate and the capacity to critically analyse and constructively contribute to that debate to shape your research, then you'll present your findings in a thesis.

PhD

A PhD (sometimes referred to as a doctorate) is the highest level of university qualification. Under the guidance of experienced academics with expertise in your discipline, you'll undertake a detailed research investigation and present your findings in a thesis – making an original and significant contribution to knowledge in your chosen discipline.
